This gentleman, who is Secretary of the Fredericksburg Brewing Company, with which he has been connected for the past ten years, was born in Philadelphia in 1856.  He there attended the public schools, graduating at the High School in 1871.  Immediately afterward he came to California, and accepted the position of bookkeeper, and later became a commercial traveler.  In 1882 he was married to Miss Emma Haney, daughter of W. W.
