John O'Rourke

Of the firm Scanlan & O'Rourke was born in San Francisco, September 15,
1862, his parents shortly afterward removing to Buffalo, N.Y. Fifteen years
ago Mr. O'Rourke returned to California, coming directly to San Jose, where
he has since been engaged in the meat business, the past two years most
successfully on his own account in partnership with V.D. Scanlan Mr.
O'Rourke was married in 1888 and is the proud father of two girls and a
fine boy. Both members of the firm are shrewd business men, courteous and
accommodating, and under their management the business of the
old-established Alameda Market has been doubled.
