SURNAMES:  HARRINGTON, MINER,

Among those who are contributing to the commercial development of Campbell through the capable management of their business interests is numbered Lucian M. Beall, proprietor of the leading drug store in the town. A native of Michigan, he was born in May, 1859, and his parents, S. N. and Celesta J. (Harrington) Beall, are both deceased. In the acquirement of an education he attended the grammar and high schools of Michigan and in 1896 came to Campbell but did not take up his permanent residence in the town at that time, going to Los Gatos, where he remained for eight years. For thirty-seven years he has been engaged in the drug business, having been connected therewith previous to coming to California in 1895. On July 5, 1900, he was graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons at San Francisco, receiving the first certificate as a registered pharmacist ever issued by that institution and being offered a chair therein, but did not accept. In May, 1914. he purchased a drug store in Campbell and this he has since successfully conducted, broad experience having given him an expert knowledge of the business, and his reliability in filling prescriptions, combined with his reasonable prices and courteous treatment of patrons, have won for him a large trade.

Mr. Beall was united in marriage to Miss Cora Miner, also a native of Michigan, and they are well and favorably known in Campbell. where they have many friends. In his political views Mr. Beall is a Republican and a Knights Templar Mason. In the management of his business affairs he has been progressive, energetic and capable and in the discharge of his duties as a citizen he has at all times been actuated by a regard for the public welfare.
